Professor Ed de Steiguer addresses modern management of rangelands in a new book.

Dr. Ed de Steiguer, Professor of Economics, Planning and Policy in the School of Natural Resources, has recently signed a contract with the University of Arizona to write a book titled: "Wild Horses of the West: the Story of America's Mustangs." The book will trace the history of the mustang from the Spanish conquistadors, through the Native Americans, to American settlers in the West. Also, it will explore the controversy associated with the presence of these horses on western public lands. This is intended to be a scholarly contribution regarding the modern management of federal grazing lands.
