Graduate and Professional Student Council seeks half-time Graduate Assistant
for Chief of Staff position with compensation and benefits

Compensation: This will be a half time GA position, paid at about $15,000
for the academic year, including tuition remission and benefits, all which
will be prorated from the start date of employment.
Position Summary and Requirements:
The GPSC seeks a friendly, service oriented graduate or
professional student in good academic standing with exceptional
organizational, computer, and social skills to coordinate activities at our
office in the Student Union. This person must be available 20 hours per
week, and able hold regular open office hours and attend two evening council
meetings per month.
Skills Summary:
Interpersonal, team work, analytical/problem solving,
attention to detail, organizational skills, written communication, web
design, time management, confidentiality, flexibility, cultural awareness &
sensitivity, and consistent work ethic.
Duties:
This person will coordinate all activities pertaining to
the daily functioning of the GPSC office. The primary duties will include
but are not limited to records filling, correspondence, website maintenance,
and electronic voting management. Some of the specifics are outlined below.
Records:
Maintain and update current filing systems and databases of records,
culling, secure disposal of files.
Correspondence:
Answer emails and phones, maintain listservs, creation of
advertising materials, and assist with mass communications including campus
wide and college-specific emails to support activities of representatives,
officers, and personnel. This person will also liase with Student Affairs
when needed.
Web Site Maintenance:
Update the official GPSC website to reflect accurate and
current information as decided by the general council, committees, and
directors. Update the web calendar.
Voting Management:
Assist with the conduct of all elections, including but not
limited to solicitations of nominees, organization of ballots, and reporting
on results.
This person will also perform such additional activities as
the executive board may deem necessary to ensure the continuity of excellent
service to our graduate and professional students.
