New funding to continue the sustainable fisheries research in the Gulf of California, Mexico
Professor Bill Shaw and Senior Project Coordinator Tad Pfister have secured new funding to continue the sustainable fisheries research in the Gulf of California, Mexico. Thanks to a new $600,000 grant from the David and Lucille Packard Foundation, the PANGAS project will enter a new phase, focused on ecological monitoring, fisheries monitoring, and providing scientific data to assist Mexican fisheries authorities to develop management plans for sustainable fisheries. Over the past 5 years, Shaw and Pfister have coordinated this large, bi-national project with over $3 million in sponsored research support.
