I'm a PhD student currently working at Dr. Dave Breshears' terrestrial ecology lab. My research addresses the partitioning of evapotranspiration fluxes in response to changes in vegetation cover and seasonality.  This general framework includes working with the interactive effects of vegetation cover and plant phenological stage on surface microclimate and the responses of soil evaporation after small pulses of precipitation. Other stages of the project include the development of an experimental approach to quantify the partitioning of ET fluxes among plant transpiration and soil evaporation as a function of woody plant canopy cover and climatic variation. This last stage is being developed at the University of Arizona Biosphere 2 research facility.
