Graduate Leadership & Involvement

The Natural Resources Graduate Student Organization (NRGSO) is student-founded and led, with a mission to develop graduate leadership and  community in the School. Each week, the NRGSO organizes Grad Forum, where graduate students present their current research. Grad Forum is a great environment to practice public speaking, learn from other students and gain valuable feedback.

The NRGSO also provides a forum for graduate student concerns and brings their ideas to the School and College administration.

In addition, the NRGSO coordinates a yearly invited speaker visit, including a public seminar, small group and individual meetings and a reception. Distinguished speakers Dr. Dan Simberloff of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and Dr. Sharon Collinge of the University of Colorado have participated in previous years. This year Dr. Kay Holekamp from the Michigan State University will visit to our department.

By participating in the NRGSO, students also keep up with professional opportunities, funding and goings-on in the University. The Natural Resources Graduate Student Organization makes significant contributions to students' professional development and academic success while contributing to a vibrant student community in the School.
